Hello, I am Cheryl Wells.
I am so pleased to be part of the Loleta School Cougar’s team! In the front office both Ms Amy and I serve as District Secretaries and have the opportunity to meet, greet, and serve Loleta students, staff, parents, and the community. There is a wide variety of clerical and support work that involve both specific routines and broadly defined policies and procedures that are both interesting and challenging.
I understand that teaching and roll modeling occurs throughout the school day in all locations on our school campus. I will always work hard to support a safe, responsible and respectful school environment and encourage student and staff connection, commitment and community on every level.
Coming from a fun loving “outdoorsy” family in Southern California it was not difficult to fall in love with Humboldt County when I arrived to attend Humboldt State University in the 1970’s. I love the beauty, wonder, and adventure of Northern California from the beautiful and rugged ocean to the mountains, rivers and lakes where I love to play and explore. I am grateful to of had the privilege of raising a family of biological kids, adoptive kids, foster kids, step kids, special needs kids and now grandkids in this amazing place….. and I can still challenge them all to keep up with me! Exploring Biblical principles and my relationship with God, family time, exercising, social dancing, water sports, hiking, gardening, cooking, and entertaining are some of my favorite things to do!
I live in Fortuna with my gift of a husband Mike, Peanut the dog and Brutus the cat. Five of our 11 grandchildren live nearby on our property with our daughter and keep us well engaged. My mother said I would grow up to be like the “Little old woman who lived in a shoe. She had so many children she didn’t know what to do….!”
I am happy to be here and to have the opportunity to add these students into my maternal heart also as I strive to serve all those who come through the doors at Loleta School!
